Artificial intelligence forms part of some M. J. Stokknes research, editorial, design, software, translation, and production workflows. It is used to accelerate work, expose alternatives, test structure, and reduce mechanical friction. It is not treated as an authority, conscience, witness, or substitute for human responsibility.
Where AI may be used
Depending on the project and edition, AI-assisted systems may support brainstorming, research organization, argument testing, developmental editing, language refinement, continuity checks, translation assistance, metadata work, coding, data organization, accessibility, formatting, design exploration, image generation or enhancement, and production troubleshooting.
Older works may not contain a step-by-step log of every tool used. The absence of a project-specific notice does not prove that no AI-assisted tool entered the workflow.
What AI does not decide
AI does not receive final authority over publication, factual claims, argument, narrative meaning, rights clearance, attribution, ethical judgment, or the decision to place work under the name M. J. Stokknes.
Outputs may be challenged, checked, rewritten, combined, ignored, or rejected. Fluency is not evidence. Confidence is not truth.
Authorship and responsibility
Final selection, arrangement, rewriting, interpretation, editorial control, and publication decisions remain human. M. J. Stokknes accepts responsibility for what is deliberately published under his name, while making no claim that every work is error-free, complete, or beyond revision.
Research and factual material
AI-generated summaries and suggestions are not treated as primary sources. Material intended as factual should be checked against appropriate sources where the context requires it. Readers should still verify consequential claims independently.
Fiction, voice, and lived material
Fiction may combine imagination, transformed experience, research, systems analysis, real geography, and AI-assisted development. A tool can help move material around; it does not possess the life, stakes, memory, taste, or responsibility from which the work is judged.
Images and design
Some covers, illustrations, concept images, promotional visuals, or graphical elements may be generated, reconstructed, composited, retouched, or enhanced with AI-assisted tools. Such images are not documentary evidence unless clearly identified as documentary material.
Translation
AI may assist translation and language comparison. A translated edition should not be assumed to have received professional human translation or native-language review unless that is expressly stated in the edition record.
Corrections
Meaningful errors, false attributions, broken links, continuity failures, or misleading disclosures can be reported through the Corrections & Errata page. Protecting an error is not an editorial principle.
AI can accelerate a process. It cannot carry responsibility.
